Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod, Wedding of J+K

So excited to share photos from the amazing J+K’s amazing wedding weekend at the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod. This wedding just won the prestigious New England NACE Wedding of the year, and it really was an all-out bash. Tasha Bracken of SD Events shared the scoop on this amazing destination wedding….

This was not your typical wedding couple and their story is a modern day fairytale.

As she walked in the bar on that March day, K’s friend turned and said “I just saw the future Mrs. K.” K finally went up and asked her to dance, requesting the John Legend song, “All of Me,” which immediately became their anthem. After dating for only a few months, they realized they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together; and after spending a weekend on Cape Cod, they realized it was the perfect setting to start the next chapter. As predicted by K’s friend on that first night in March, J became Mrs. K on November 12, 2016.

They wanted amazing food, a glamourous look, but a fun and whimsical vibe. For J+K, it was about embracing the natural beauty of Cape Cod and adding a pinch of glamour.

As their designers, our goal was to create a fun and whimsical, but elegant wedding weekend for K+J. This started with the invitation which was unique and elegant, but also playful. The welcome bags were presented in gold boxes with fun elements of Cape Cod to set the tone for the weekend.

All décor was formal/traditional. To bring in the fun and whimsical side, we created a cosmo corner, and brought in a chocolate fountain, cigar roller and the after party cotton candy machine. A few more fun elements throughout the weekend- donuts and coffee sent to each guest the day of the wedding.

One of our favorite part of the wedding day might actually have been the after party. Guests stepped into an 80’s club that was playful and sassy. We brought in glow party favors, cotton candy and of course there was a photo booth. The best element was the light up dance floor – it was like you were back at Studio 54!

You’ve never seen a cosmo bar like this one – it was so fun to put together, but it was also one of the more challenging aspects; creating an elegant banner (not something you would see at a tradeshow) and finding the perfect cosmo girl to stand and hand them out!

The weekend was a smash success- the couple so happy together and with all of their favorite people surrounding them celebrated in grand style!
