For Courtney and Brian’s wedding at the Topsfield Commons, north of Boston, they chose to highlight a few of their favorite things. And because one of their favorite things is the color purple, I just had to focus their first inspiration entry on that vibrant and lovely color that popped up even before their wedding day to set the tone.
Violet, lavender, amethyst, mulberry, aubergine, mauve, eggplant, orchid, plum, wine, lilac…. All the shades in all sorts of arrangements.
First off the invitations, lovingly crafted by our bride and groom and sealed with their monogram.
When the guests arrived at the Topsfield Commons, they once again saw the special touch.
Around the welcome table were arrangements of purple hydrangeas. The name cards had purple stamps on them and were tied with an amethyst ribbon.
Once in the reception hall, the theme continued with beautiful origami papers in purple hues for the table numbers and additional centerpieces with purple hydrangea and calla lillies. Plus each guest received a chinese take-out box with treats inside, adorned with additional Japanese papers and purple ribbons.
Of course the bride’s bouquet matched the theme… an arrangement of calla lillies.
And the groomsmen’s boutonnieres….
As well as the ring bearer’s boutonniere and the flower girls bouquets. And of course, the girls’ dresses in a rich amethyst.
The cake was not only sweet, but also tied into the color palette.
Playtime for the guests also allowed for the look to be consistant. Temporary tattoos for all the guests- an auberine elephant.
Courtney with her fellow trapeze artist friends showing off their tattoos. Gotta love these ladies!
