We wanted to share a little of the joy we get to experience on a regular basis as wedding and portrait photographers. So here’s our tribute to all kinds of kisses and celebrations of love from 2008. We were so lucky to be a part of these joyous moments- simply inspirational.
And now on to the smooching….

I recently reconnected with an old friend who is now a minister in Cambridge, MA. We grew up together and since have both lived all over the country so it was great to catch up. And it was also great to get to tour his church, Swedenborg Chapel. Oh my goodness, this is the epitomy of a picturesque New England church. I adore it. It is cozy and historic and beautiful. A great place for a wedding.

Deana and Nick had a fabulous wine country wedding at the beginning of fall. She did an amazing job with the feel of the day. Deana incorporated all sorts of special touches to highlight the time of year and the location, the gardens and wine cave at Hans Fahden Vineyards.

For my last entry in the generations series, I wanted to focus on the mini-fam of Linda and Mike. When Linda and Mike found us for their 2006 wedding, we were so excited. You should see the way he looks at her- melts your heart. We were really looking forward to their fall wedding. They celebrated with their ceremony at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in San Francisco, their wedding portraits at the Legion of Honor and their wedding reception at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, coordinated by Jubilee Lau of Jubilee Lau Events.

While having a multi-generation mini-family like Karen and Willy‘s is so much fun, we also love our smaller mini-families. We have tons of these. Today I wanted to send a shout out to a bunch of the two generation mini-fams.
First mini-fam:
Sepi and Homan traveled from New York to get married at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. They had an amazing Persian wedding ceremony followed by great food and endless dancing. We definitely wanted to capture their city sensibilities during the portrait session.

These are the couples and families who enjoyed our work enough to share it with their friends and families. And their friends and families choose us to photograph their celebrations or portraits. And perhaps continued the chain. In our household, we refer to these as generations.
To kick it off, I wanted to start with the family we’ve known the longest- that of Karen and Willy.

We had such a blast hanging with Deana and Nick for their engagement session, we couldn’t wait for the wedding. And the wedding was even more awesome and fun than I had expected. Their friends and family were outstanding- welcoming and relaxed. Their site was one of our favorites, Hans Fahden in the California wine country. The skies were deep, deep blue. And I got to learn so much more about Deana and Nick. Deana’s dad’s speech rocked- both witty and sentimental. I could see through his eyes how these two amazing, intelligent, fun, wonderful people were absolutely destined to be together.
