We have had the great pleasure of watching Duke’s family grow- I say it that way because first Duke had Maya, then he added Drew and, most recently, Mason to his family. And we knew Duke first, as he is our boy Max’s brother. We have enjoyed getting to know the whole family and have had the opportunity to photograph them from Maya and Drew’s engagement session to their wedding to their first family portrait to this most recent session with Mason. In preparation for the holidays, we captured these portraits of Maya, Drew, Mason and Duke at Piedmont Park.
From Duke’s perspective.
A better look at the humans in the family.
Mason just happens to be absolutely adorable, no suprise given his genes, and a lovely little guy to boot. He offers huge smiles for his mom. Maya’s entertaining Mason and Drew behind our cameras.
Kisses.
The pensive boys.
Maya taught me a few of her tricks to get Mason to smile for me. He did so a couple of times, but it is clear he loves his mom’s version of the ABC’s best.

The weather had been a little iffy so we wanted to keep Mason warm. We decided to head back home for a few with Mason having the spotlight all to himself.
Duke is such a good protector and big brother. He is so calm and is happy to allow Mason to sit cradled in his lap. So precious.
Then one final image with Maya and her first boy.
It is always a pleasure getting together with Maya, Drew, Mason and Duke. Thank you so much for inviting us into your lives.

In honor of the beginning of wedding season and because we are just crazy like that, we decided to give our blog a brand spankin’ new look. Make sure to check out all the ins and outs of this beta version.

The goal was to make the photos front and center and give you lots of ways to find what you are looking for. The first section allows you to catch a glimpse of our most recent posts. You can slide from the first to the second and so on. It is sort of like the front page of a newspaper. And since you can only see one post’s photo, headline and excerpt at a time in that section, the “Recent Work” section shows you the eight most recent lead photos, along with the most recent story on the right, and headlines from 5 prior posts. If you continue down even further, you will see our categories section. This highlights recent articles in our most viewed categories. At the bottom of the page, you can find a tag cloud amongst other ways to search for what you are looking for.
We hope you enjoy all the new features. Let us know if you have suggestions and ideas that would make the blog even easier to access. We would love to hear how we can make it even better. And most importantly, enjoy!

Yesterday, Dave, Max, and I took a looonnnngggg walk to go see the Boston Marathon runners as they journeyed through Newton. Okay, I freely admit my our piddly 5 miles round trip is absolutely nothing compared to the 26.2 these folks ran. I was astounded by the diversity of people running, jogging, walking, rolling. And they were all so inspirational. Of course, I brought the camera with me to document a bit of the fun.
There were people of all ages, races, styles running. And some with great sense of humor- like this guy- and the guy who wore a hamburger and the girl who had pink bows on her shoes. Anything to keep yourself joyful as you run… And presumably these fun peeps brought joy to all those around them.

I am super excited to announce the gallery show I am taking part in. The theme for our work is love. The show came about from a desire to explore love in new context. All of the photographers in the show are women who primarily shoot weddings. You can check out some of their wedding work on their sites: Jacklyn Greenberg, Tina Parsadanov, Val McCormick, Mary Marantz, Jane Shauck, Krystal Prue, Carla Ten Eyck, and Nikki Nicole Rinaldi. I am honored to be among these women, who are not only fabulous photographers, but extraordinary individuals.

When we were last in California, we met up with Maya, Drew and Duke for a family portrait session. We photographed Maya and Drew’s wedding last February and are thrilled that we can continue to capture images of their family as they grow and change.
