Trash the Dress at Rodeo Beach

Marla and Shawn had a stunning destination wedding at Hans Fahden Winery in Napa Valley, California. They had many of the traditional elements and celebrated in good style, but the day after their wedding, they wanted to spice things up a bit. So we did a very special newlywed session in the Marin Headlands and along the California Coast.

First stop, Point Bonita Lighthouse- so fun- everyone was cheering and so gracious, allowing the newlyweds to cross the bridge at the head of the line.

When walking back up the hill from the lighthouse, we noticed this little path in the grasses and a fabulous view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We had to stop and enjoy the scenery.

We had parked by this old bunker. It was a great place to play around for a bit. All of the old, rusty metal provided great texture and contrast to Marla’s softness.

We concluded our tour at Rodeo Beach for a little wave action and an opportunity to Trash the Dress.

Yes, they got wet and yes, it was very, very cold. These two were such troopers though. I was amazed!

Spring is absolutely one of my favorite seasons. I love how color starts to burst out everywhere; we are just starting to see the crocuses pop out of the ground in New England. Soon the trees will start to bud. For those getting married at this beautiful time of year, it is time to start considering what flowers to include in your wedding decor and personal flowers. Fortunately, Brides.com has a great series on all colors, styles, and flowers you can choose from.

Brides.com included one of our images from Brian and Lori’s wedding as well. Check out Brian’s gorgeous boutonniere- I love the way the peach tones blend into the vibrant pinks of the rose; the green berries and grasses are a really nice accent.

Brian and Lori had such an amazing wedding at Hans Fahden Winery, which definitely highlighted the colors of the season. Here’a a few more of my favorites:

For Lori, a white bouquet with touches of green, peach, and yellow. And I love the dark purple in the midst of some of the flowers.

For the flower girl, yellow, peach, and orange.

And Hans Fahden Winery really shone in springtime. The gardens were so lush.

The Scoop: Lori and Brian’s Wedding

Thank you Lori and Brian for having me photograph your wedding. It was a total blast.

I love this photo because it pretty much sums the spirit of your wedding day. Brian being goofy, fun and outrageous. And Lori looking sooo glamorous. Enjoy all your photos!

Lori looked so great. This Vera Wang gown was just perfect for her- just the right amount of sparkle and flair.

Lori and Brian had really cool friends. They brought color, creativity and personality to the wedding.

The wine caves at Hans Fahden are such a fabulous place to enjoy dinner on a hot day. And they are so romantic.

After dinner, we snuck away for a few portraits and some quiet moments. The grounds of Hans Fahden are lovely and they had the perfect day for pictures.
