We started off with the formal lifestyle portraits.

We finished up the session with an editorial photo. While Noodle loves his baby girl, he also sees new opportunities for mischief.

Want more from Ivan and Jess? No problem. We have enjoyed being a part of their lives since their engagement through their wedding. We’re now thrilled to document their first born child.

From Duke’s perspective.

A better look at the humans in the family.

Mason just happens to be absolutely adorable, no suprise given his genes, and a lovely little guy to boot. He offers huge smiles for his mom. Maya’s entertaining Mason and Drew behind our cameras.

Maya taught me a few of her tricks to get Mason to smile for me. He did so a couple of times, but it is clear he loves his mom’s version of the ABC’s best.

The weather had been a little iffy so we wanted to keep Mason warm. We decided to head back home for a few with Mason having the spotlight all to himself.

Duke is such a good protector and big brother. He is so calm and is happy to allow Mason to sit cradled in his lap. So precious.

It is always a pleasure getting together with Maya, Drew, Mason and Duke. Thank you so much for inviting us into your lives.

This weekend, we snuck in an engagement session with Jess and Ivan, whose wedding is in just over a week. We wanted to make sure we had this chance to get together in a relaxed setting before the wedding. And also, to share the photos with them and get their feedback before the big day. The weather had been less than cooperative for our initial plans, but this day was perfect. As was the location.

With the Back Bay as our playground, we enjoyed the wealth of possibilities our fair city has to offer. Gotta love Boston!

We actually know Ivan and Jess pretty well already. Ivan and Dave had been roommates in college at UMass Amherst; as soon as we moved back to the Boston area, we got together with them. We instantly adored Jess.

And of course, playdates with Max and their pup Noodle were a must. Both dogs love the tennis ball and neither is agressive about having it. Excellent playmates.

Perhaps my favorite thing about heading out on a photographic double date with Ivan and Jess was pausing to watch them interact with each other. They laugh so much!!!

And my other favorite thing was watching them play with Noodle- who is totally absolutely adorable. Such a happy family.

All around a great morning! Thank you both- we had so much fun.

We really can’t wait for your wedding at the Harvard Club. It is going to be amazing. And we are totally going to take you up on your offer to hang out and dance for a bit after we are finished shooting!

If you think Duke looks familiar, you may see the family resemblance between he and Max. These two Giant Schnauzer‘s were born of the same litter so I guess that makes us Duke’s aunt and uncle. Duke has the typical Schnauzer cut and he looks so regal. I love his eyebrows! He also has the more typical Giant build. He weighs a good deal more than Max, and it’s all muscle.

Maya wanted to capture something very San Francisco, casual, and telling of the coming winter months. Baker Beach seemed a perfect option. As is the norm there, we had blustery weather and a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Drew and Duke are awesome playmates. Here’s Duke chasing Drew around the beach.

It was so much fun hanging out with Maya and Drew; they clearly adore Duke. And watching them all interact is a blast. Plus it makes us miss Max a little less.

Maya and Drew- thanks so much for thinking of this. We are so glad we could make it work. And congrats again on your news!

In the Korean tradition, this is a very special birthday and one in which the whole family celebrates. We were glad we could capture these images of Isaac with each of his parents.

Isaac was such a blast to shoot. He was always on the move which definitely kept us on our toes. Here he is “flying” with his dad.

And he loves the outdoors. While on the shoot, he attempted to climb a tree and enjoyed the feel of the grass. He even offered me a rock.

I so love shooting kids because they are so honest with their emotions. Isaac was no different. He has the sweetest expression while his dad gives him a peck on the cheek.

Huge thank you to Yuhyun for choosing us to shoot these special portraits of Isaac. He is such a cutie and we had a great time.
