Bright and Lush Inspiration

Seeing as Tami is a former wedding planner, it’s no surprise that all of the wonderful details of her wedding were absolutely beautiful and perfectly reflected her and Gio. You may recall that they had an intimate wedding at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley on a beautiful April day this spring. Now’s the time to enjoy a bit of inspiration and a few photos from the reception just for fun.

This little munchkin was enjoying the gardens, and also happens to be one of our connections to Tami and Gio. Or more accurately her parents are. We photographed their Bernardus Lodge wedding, which Tami planned. So fun to see them and their growing family at Tami’s celebration.

Colorful Cali Wedding

I’ve known Tami for several years now. It all started when she was a wedding planner and Jo and I had the distinct pleasure of working with her. Since then, our paths have meandered in different directions, but we have been in touch throughout. So when Tami found Gio and they decided to get married, I was thrilled that she asked me to photograph their celebration. She and Gio selected one of my favorite intimate wedding venues in the Bay Area, the Outdoor Art Club, and spring couldn’t have been more perfect on their wedding day.

I started with the two of them as they got ready at the club.

Tami wasn’t particularly worried about western traditions. She chose a chic birdcage veil and a stunning red dance dress for her wedding look.

Gio couldn’t be more smitten.

Or more excited to be officially married to Tami.

Sweet smiles leaving the ceremony in the garden.

During cocktail hour, I had the chance to capture a few portraits. Tami definitely planned another beautiful event. I loved her personal touches, like this sign.

We were all treated to some great music during the portraits and cocktail reception.

Details: Krista & Andy’s Wedding

Krista and Andy married this summer and you will not believe the fabulous touches she gave to her wedding. Everything from her wedding dress to the cake had her signature on it. The result was simply amazing.

Krista picked a beautiful dress by Paloma Blanca, but added her own look to it- a Japanese inspired sash.

Sneak Peek: Winter Bridal Shoot in Killington, VT

Earlier this month, we teamed up with some amazing vendors to do an editorial wedding fashion shoot. This one took us to Killington, Vermont, a resort town in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. A snowy winter day provided the perfect backdrop and theme for our portrait session.

Generations: Part 3

For my last entry in the generations series, I wanted to focus on the mini-fam of Linda and Mike. When Linda and Mike found us for their 2006 wedding, we were so excited. You should see the way he looks at her- melts your heart. We were really looking forward to their fall wedding. They celebrated with their ceremony at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in San Francisco, their wedding portraits at the Legion of Honor and their wedding reception at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, coordinated by Jubilee Lau of Jubilee Lau Events.

Generations: Part 2

While having a multi-generation mini-family like Karen and Willy‘s is so much fun, we also love our smaller mini-families. We have tons of these. Today I wanted to send a shout out to a bunch of the two generation mini-fams.

First mini-fam:

Sepi and Homan traveled from New York to get married at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. They had an amazing Persian wedding ceremony followed by great food and endless dancing. We definitely wanted to capture their city sensibilities during the portrait session.

Album Peak: Becky & Danny’s Newport Wedding

People often ask us how we spend the winter months since most of our weddings are photographed in the summer. The answer is simple: albums. Our creative juices keep on flowing and most of our brides and grooms are ready to begin making their albums about 6 months after their wedding. So while it is blustery outside, we hunker down in front of our computers designing albums and prepping the files. I thought I would share a little sneak peak from a current album.

Becky and Danny got married at The Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport, RI. They actually had a super colorful (lots of fresh pinks and greens) wedding. And most of their album reflects that aspect of the day. So I was so excited to use some of the black and white images and create this spread. I love the moments I was able to include- the large image was just after Danny gave his speech and went to steal a kiss from Becky. The other 3 images were captured during their first dance.

Featured on Destination Weddings and Honeymoons

Totally awesome news! We just found out from Genevieve that her wedding to Jack is featured as the Wedding of the Week on the Destination Weddings and Honeymoons website. DWH also profiled this fabulous wedding on their blog.

destination weddings and honeymoons wedding of the week by allegro photography

Genevieve and Jack are absolutely wonderful and their wedding was truly gorgeous. Genevieve planned her California wedding from Chicago with the help of Jack’s sister (who lives in the Bay Area) as well as her planner Michelle Martinez of Event Designs. She and Jack chose the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, California as the backdrop for the ceremony and reception. You can read all the details on the Destination Weddings site, but I couldn’t help but share a few of my favorite pix from this amazing wedding.
