Nina + Aggelos: Details and Inspiration

As this post is all about the amazing inspiration and details behind Nina and Aggelos’ wedding, I really need to devote it to Lo McShay from LoLo Event Design. Honestly she took a nice but neutral hotel ballroom and turned it into something magical. The drapes, the lights, the flowers, the custom designed plate settings and bar brought Nina and Aggelos’ dream of a luxurious wedding to life. Her vision was flawless. Enjoy!

Congrats to Nina and Aggelos and many thank yous to all the people who made their day so special:

Diana & Mike’s Fall Wedding at Harrington Farm

Perhaps the best word to describe the feel of Diana and Mike’s wedding was warmth. Sure they married on a brisk November day but everything about their day exuded their personal warmth and reflected their joy- from their huge smiles and genuine affection for their family and friends to the colors they chose and even the sky and sunset.

Special thanks to the team of professionals who made everything go smoothly:

Diana and Mike at the Harrington Farm

Ahhh, fall weddings. You just gotta love them. All those pretty oranges, reds, and golds. And the rustic beauty of Harrington Farm was the perfect back drop for Diana and Mike’s autumn celebration. On a crisp day, they joined together, surrounded by their loved ones. The warmth and enthusiasm of the family and friends made for great moments, and of course great photos.

Nina + Aggelos: Part 2

After Nina & Agglos’ grand first look inside the Mandarin and a few portraits, we brought them together with their wedding party for more photos. And some in and around the hotel. Then of course, there was their ceremony. You are going to melt when you see Aggelos’ face. I love that couples who have seen each other before the ceremony still get all weepy when their soon-to-be-spouse walks down the aisle. So enjoy the beauty, the style, and the sentiment of this gorgeous luxury wedding.

And Nina too.

All that draping elegance designed by Lo at LoLo Event Design. She pretty much rocks all around.

Christie + Michael Part II

After several modern/urban weddings, I thought it would be fun to return back to Christie and Michael’s classic Copley Plaza Wedding.  In the Oval Room of the Fairmont, the old world charm provides warmth and beauty. Add the perfect mix of family and friends and you get a truly elegant, fun and joyous celebration. Christie and Michael’s reception was full of laughter, true affection and dancing. The highlights- the toast in which we learned so much more about this couple and their amazing talents and intelligence and the hora (because who doesn’t like a horah?).

Thank you to all the people who made Christie and Michael’s day so special:

Chris + Gary: Inspiration

You’ve seen the story behind this exciting Boston wedding and now’s the time to enjoy all the little details, the unique touches that made it even more special.

Thank you to all the people who made Chris and Gary’s day so special:

Ceremony Location: St. Mary’s Church / Reception Location: Liberty Hotel / Photography: Allegro Photography / Flowers:Indigo in Charlestown / Invitations: Hello Lucky / Dress: Jim Hjelm (purchased at Kleinfelds in Manhattan) / Bridesmaids: Ann Taylor / Groom’s suit: Custom suit by Alton Lane (Newbury Street, Boston) / Groomsmen Suits: Classic Tux (Newbury Street, Boston) /  Band: The Boston Common Band / Hair/makeup: Salon Zurell (Plantsville, CT) / Bride’s shoes: Jimmy Choo / Gift from groom: Tiffany & Co./ Cake: Amanda Oakleaf Cakes (Chelsea, MA)/ Bridal consulting: Boston Bridal Lounge (Newbury Street, Boston)/ Linens&accessories: Be Our Guest Party Rental / Chair rental: PBD Events

Love the lace on Chris’ veil.

Pretty in peach.

Check out the view from the Liberty.

The groom’s tailored suit

Couldn’t be more appropriate these cufflinks given to Gary by Chris, especially since they celebrated at the old prison and were taken there in the squad car.

The groomsmen don’t have a tone of ways to make their outfits their own. Loving these playful socks.

And announcing the bride….

Super popular trend this year- stripy paper straws.

Keys for the jail cell- such a great way to spice up the escort cards.

Soft elegant floral centerpieces in the stunning ballroom.

Rockin’ it all night long.

Chris + Gary, Part II- Book ‘em

And this is where things get exciting. No, not because Gary is surrounded by all these beautiful ladies, though I am sure he didn’t mind.

You see this limo. Well it was great for their time in Charlestown. It took our couple and Dave around for beautiful portraits,

which even included the Beacon Hill Monument.

And some sweet photos in the limo.

And then the adventure began. The limo lost its breaks on the way to the Liberty Hotel, right by the Museum of Science. They made it safely across the intersection against a red light and then the driver (who was exceptionally skilled, thank goodness) got the car to stop by essentially softly crashing it. The excitement didn’t end there as a highway patrolmen arrived with lights flashing to inquire if the driver knew he had run a light. After figuring out what was going on, he generously offered to bring our couple and Dave to the ceremony at the Liberty Hotel. Best part, so they arrive at the hotel which used to be a jail in a cop car with lights on. Awesome.

View of Chris behind safety glass. She’s one dangerous gal.

Of course, everyone was very happy to hear they made it safely to the party. And ready for a celebration after all of the hoopla.

What I love most about this story is that Chris and Gary took everything in stride with good humor. They actually contacted the TV station to let them know about the incident and they were interviewed along with Dave about it. All in all, a happy ending!

Huge congrats to Chris and Gary. Nina + Aggelos Part 1

Be prepared to have your socks knocked off by this Boston city wedding. Lo worked with Nina and Aggelos to completely envelope the room in the Mandarin where they would have their ceremony and their reception. She had custom table chargers made with their menu on them and a stunning lucite bar created for them, just to name a few of the personal touches. All of these special decorative details added to the warmth and fun that Nina and Aggelos share.

Congrats to Nina and Aggelos and many thank yous to all the people who made their day so special:

Starting off with our groom this time.

Good times.

And now the ladies.

So gorgeous. And how I love her dress.

A final touch by mom before they have their first look.

The Mandarin has some really amazing art and some great little spaces for indoor portraits. Always fun to find.

Then of course, they also have the fantastic roof top gardens. Perfect for more portraits and/or an outdoor ceremony.

Chris + Gary Part 1

You wouldn’t know it from the start, but Chris and Gary’s wedding day was not only beautiful but filled with adventure. No this isn’t an adventure they planned, yet one they definitely had a good sense of humor about. But the nature of that won’t be revealed until a later post.

For now, enjoy how come and fun their pre-ceremony time with friends was and then how absolutely beautiful their Catholic ceremony was….

And a quick thank you to all the people who made Chris and Gary’s day so special:

Ceremony Location: St. Mary’s Church / Reception Location: Liberty Hotel / Photography: Allegro Photography / Flowers:Indigo in Charlestown / Invitations: Hello Lucky / Dress: Jim Hjelm (bought it at Kleinfelds in Manhattan) / Bridesmaids: Ann Taylor / Groom’s suit: Custom suit by Alton Lane (Newbury Street, Boston) / Groomsmen Suits: Classic Tux (Newbury Street, Boston) /  Band: The Boston Common Band / Hair/makeup: Salon Zurell (Plantsville, CT) / Bride’s shoes: Jimmy Choo / Gift from groom: Tiffany & Co./ Cake: Amanda Oakleaf Cakes (Chelsea, MA)/ Bridal consulting: Boston Bridal Lounge (Newbury Street, Boston)/ Linens/accessories: Be Our Guest Party Rental / Chair rental: PBD Events

Chris got ready in their suite at the Liberty Hotel surrounded by friends.

Meanwhile Gary prepped at their Charlestown home, with “help” from his buddies.

As it only takes about 2 seconds for the boys to get ready, I was able to take a few portraits beforehand. It was warm outside, though. Really warm, so we didn’t want the boys to be in the heat for too long. We wanted them looking fresh. This one of Gary on their roof deck.

Then at the church. Our welcoming committee.

Oh so sweet.

And more sweetness during the ceremony.

What’s up next you ask? Portraits, the trip to the Liberty and of course the Reception/Party. Where, oh, where will the adventure be?
