East Coast’s Great Mountains

What a perfect time of year to drive through the Great Smoky Mountains! It has been several years since I visited this scenic area of North Carolina, perhaps since my freshman year in college when I did a backpacking trip in Pisgah National Forest. And so I was in awe once again. The mountains did, indeed, have a smoky look to them. And we were able to catch the tail end of the beautiful fall foliage. We also caught the tail end of daylight.
